Membership Info and Pricing

NEW MEMBERSHIP The Swarthmore Swim Club does not have a residency requirement and we welcome new members from all local communities. New members must purchase of an equity share (commonly referred to as the "bond") that permits voting so long as the member remains in good standing (dues paid in full). The cost of the Share is $480. It is a one-time-only purchase required to obtain full membership status. A one-time $150 Initiation Fee is also due when purchasing a new membership. Please note that Trial memberships are no longer offered. ANNUAL DUES SSC relies on revenue from membership dues to pay for the operating expenses of the pool. All members are required to pay all required dues annually to remain in good standing. Owed dues will be deducted from the bond value. There is only one exception, a "summer away option" in which a member requests a leave status for one year and pays a Summer Away Membership fee of $150 for the season. This "summer away" option is limited to one season. Dues must be paid through this website and NO dues payments will be accepted AT the pool. All dues will be required to be paid by May 20, 2024 to avoid a late fee of $75 (applies to all existing bond holders; late fee is not applied to new memberships received after the due date). There will be no refunds. BOND REDEMPTION Members who choose to end their membership may request to redeem their bond. Bond redemption can be accomplished by e-mailing membership@swarthmoreswimclub.org and are paid out 2 times per year (May and September). Bond redemption requests are due by May 1 of each year and will be reviewed at the May Board meeting. Bonds will be returned assuming your account is up to date and dues were paid in full through the previous season. If we receive a large number of redemption requests, we may need to postpone payment until we ensure we have more new members than those requesting bonds back. FAMILY MEMBERS All members listed on a membership must reside in the same residence. There must be at least one member 18 years of age or older included on the membership. Seniors must be 65 years of age by opening day in order to obtain senior rate. Infants who are less than 12 months old by opening day may be included in a membership for free.
