Membership Info and Pricing

NEW MEMBERSHIP The Swarthmore Swim Club does not have a residency requirement and we welcome new members from all local communities. New members must purchase an equity share (commonly referred to as the "bond") that grants voting rights so long as the member has paid all dues in full and remains in good standing. The cost of the Share is $480. It is a one-time-only purchase required to obtain full membership status. The share value is returned when the member withdraws from the Club, less any outstanding dues, provided a new member joins in their place. A one-time Initiation Fee is also due when purchasing a new membership. Any Waitlist or Application Fees paid will be deducted from the Initiation Fee. ANNUAL DUES SSC relies on revenue from membership dues to pay for the operating expenses of the pool. All members are required to pay all required dues annually to remain in good standing. There is only one exception, a "summer away” option in which a member requests a leave status for one year and pays a Summer Away Membership fee for the season. This "summer away" option is limited to one season during the lifetime of a membership. Dues must be paid through this website, through the link in the invoice email members receive, or by mailed check. NO dues payments will be accepted at the swim club. For the 2026 season, all dues must be paid by May 1, 2026 to avoid a late fee of $120 (applies to all existing shareholders; the late fee does not apply to new memberships, even if they are received after the due date). There will be no refunds. SHARE REDEMPTION Members who choose to end their membership may request to redeem their share. Share redemptions can be accomplished by e-mailing membership@swarthmoreswimclub.org and redemption requests are due by May 1 or October 1. Additional details regarding share redemption are included in the Member Financial Obligations and Enforcement Policy on the Member dashboard. FAMILY MEMBERS All members listed on a membership must reside in the same residence. There must be at least one member 18 years of age or older included on the membership. Seniors must be 65 years of age by opening day in order to obtain the senior member rate. Infants who are less than 12 months old on opening day may be included in a membership for free. A babysitter pass can be added on at any time before or during the season. Members may purchase guest passes for their guests.
